Celebrating the Providence College Centennial

Rev. Brian J. Shanley, O.P. '80Throughout a century characterized by monumental change, Providence College has remained consistently true to its founding ideals. That unshakable commitment to rigorous education in the Dominican tradition, to welcoming and supporting all who are part of our community, and to serving the needs of others provides the foundation for all we celebrate at our Centennial.

This is also an occasion to look ahead with great anticipation, as we carry forward the original vision of Bishop Harkins and so many others in the contemporary context. God has blessed us abundantly, and we can all take pride in being part of an institution that is poised for a second century of even greater distinction, accomplishment, and impact.

The Providence College centennial will be a wonderful celebration, marked by numerous events and commemorations, and I look forward to sharing in those occasions with our College community.

May God bless you,

Rev. Brian J. Shanley, O.P. ’80
